For more than 25 years, we’ve had the privilege of working with Jeff Elgin, and over that time we’ve watched many remarkable projects come through our doors — but few matched the uniqueness of the one he brought us before his Blue Origin NS-36 space flight.

As Jeff prepared for the mission, he wanted to create something meaningful for approximately 200 consultants attending his presentation after the flight — a commemorative item that would not only mark the occasion, but would actually share in the journey itself. The challenge was that space aboard the capsule was extremely limited, so every gram and every dimension mattered.

Together, we developed a custom enamel lapel pin designed specifically for flight. To conserve as much space as possible, the pin was produced without its traditional back clasp. After the mission, a magnet was added so the piece could still be displayed and used in a practical way once returned to Earth.

To document the story properly, we incorporated the flight details into custom Certificate of Authenticity cards, giving each recipient a clear record of what had traveled aboard the mission and how it was prepared.

In addition to the flown item, we also produced several companion pieces that were part of the overall presentation package, including custom materials that remained earthbound but helped complete the story. Jeff also carried thread into space, which later became part of a specially designed embroidered patch, adding another authentic flown element to the collection.

Once all of the components were completed, we consolidated everything into a coordinated gift package prepared for distribution during Jeff’s space presentation in New Orleans, where we were honored to join him and see the full story shared with his audience.

Projects like this remind us that sometimes even small objects can carry extraordinary meaning — especially when they return with a story few things ever get the chance to tell.
